The Situation Abroad has rumors going to that LJ might well go away completely, and that led to me downloading CSVs of my old entries, and (finally) getting DW to scrape entries and upload them here (old comments, still in progress).

And what do I find myself doing?

WRITING AN ENTRY HERE. A proper entry. An original content entry.

It's my 50th birthday, and on my 40th, I posted about what had happened in my 30s, and how I was looking forward to seeing what was to come in my 40s.

...my 40s were *rough*, folks. ROUGH.

But I now own my own apartment (right across the street from where I lived during all my LJ days), I have a cat (Mycroft!) and a (service) dog (Sancho!). I work at the Library of Congress doing good work for the good of all people. And maybe just maybe my 50s will be kind.
